Different Approaches to Winter

For Galilee Cycles held two training camps in the past couple of weeks. The first was for older kids and any adult members of the team. They rode three days south from the Galil on road bikes, then switched to mountain bikes and rode for two days around Mitzpe Ramon. It looked like perfect weather, much like we always have here in New England.

The second training camp was for younger kids. It was near the team headquarters in the Galil. Again, it doesn't look like winter has set in there yet.

For my training today I rode in the snowstorm for three hours off-road on my cyclocross bike. The snow was coming in sideways. My rims froze so I had less than adequate braking and snow clogged my shoes and pedals. It was fun enough, but the pictures of sunny Israel make me desire weather that is a bit warmer.

While I was out in the snow, Shiri took a great video of Niv that is below.

The team in the south.

The younger kids taking a break in the Galil.

At first I thought I had a rare skin disorder. Then I realized I had three hours of ice on my face.

Niv loves kisses.
