Visiting the Devil

We've gotten to see a lot of friends that while we're on the west coast. It's New Haven reunions all the time. Dr. Paul came out for a fun night, battling traffic only to miss Niv. Geoff and Morgan of Yale Cycling fame joined me for a nice long ride to a nice long climb followed by a nice long ride home. The climb is Mt. Diablo, which took us at least an hour to climb. It was over 3,000 feet of vertical gain, and while it wasn't the only climb of the day, it made everything else look like a bump in the road.. The descent took over 20 minutes alone. The ride emphasized how great riding in NorCal is.

Catching up with Dr. Paul.

The only reason Geoff could pull away here is because I was reaching for the camera.

If I knew how much more climbing there was I would have waited to take the self portrait.

Morgan beasting the Devil.

I don't recall anything like this back east.

Way behind me you can see the snow-capped Sierra Nevadas.

We were relieved to make it and start our descent.

Niv making new friends with our old friends, the Masseys.
